Krishnakumar specializes in sensor technology, nanomaterials, and embedded systems, with expertise in material synthesis, signal processing, and real-time data analysis. At IISc Bangalore, he worked on cutting-edge projects involving pressure sensors, bolometers, and gas sensors, combining advanced materials with practical electronics. Passionate about bridging research and innovation, he thrives on turning lab-scale ideas into real-world solutions.

Akash Kulgod grew up in a family of 11 doctors and a rotating case of dogs in Belgaum, before studying Cognitive Science with Highest Honors at UC Berkeley. He has performed research in 8 labs across 5 countries, and is the first author of three publications and one patent on canine cognitive neuroscience. He is a 2x Emergent Ventures India grantee and a 2025 Foresight Institute Fellow. Outside of Dognosis, Akash cheerleads a rural Karnataka STEM talent-search program - Pratbha Poshak - and an affordable companion animal hospital Soulmates Healthcare. He enjoys coffee, reading, writing, and running.

Subham is fascinated by how complex and subjective decision making can be and is interested in challenging the lenses through which they are currently studied. He thinks that it is possible to do so by carefully developing models, leveraging information spanning the behavioural and neural levels. After getting a Master's in Biological sciences and Bioengineering from IIT Kanpur, he worked as a RA at the Decision Lab @ IITK for 2+years trying to understand how humans decide under uncertainty. At Dognosis he plans to help understand canine behaviour and cognition by modelling multi-modal data (behaviour, EEG, visual etc.). When not at work he enjoys reading books, listening to music, hiking, playing sports and games (football, chess, board games etc), travelling and having good food !

Dr. Sanjeev Kulgod is a highly regarded cancer surgeon based in North Karnataka, with over 21 years of experience in surgical oncology. He earned his medical degree from J.N. Medical College, Belgaum, followed by postgraduate training in General Surgery at N.H.L. Medical College, Gujarat University. He went on to complete his M.Ch. in Surgical Oncology from the prestigious Gujarat Cancer Research Institute (GCRI), B.J. Medical College, Ahmedabad, in 2004. Dr. Kulgod is the Director of RadOn Cancer Center and an active member of the Indian surgical oncology community. He is part of the organizing team and committee of the Indian Association of Surgical Oncology (IASO), contributing to national efforts in advancing cancer care and surgical training.

Fueled by a passion for humans and dogs, Itamar is a versatile expert in canine behavior and detection work. With four years of experience in the elite Israeli K9 unit (Oketz), Itamar honed his skills in high-pressure environments. He later became the first employee at a groundbreaking disease detection dog start-up in Israel. His unique expertise is central to Dognosis’ mission of advancing human-canine partnerships for early cancer detection.

I’m a doctor-turned-designer currently studying Information Design at NID Bangalore. My background in medicine fuels my interest in solving complex, human-centered problems through design, especially in healthcare and communication. I’m passionate about visual storytelling, systems thinking, and simplifying the complicated. I love exploring metaphors, mapping emotions, and creating narratives that connect. Outside of work, you’ll usually find me sketching portraits, reading Murakami, running, or getting lost in deep conversations about design, behavior, and life. I'm always looking for ways to blend curiosity, empathy, and creativity into whatever I do.

Dr. Gopikrishna Deshpande is a Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Auburn University, where he leads neuroimaging research at the MRI Research Center. His work focuses on brain connectivity, fMRI, and machine learning applications in neuroscience, with active collaborations at institutions including NIMHANS and IISc. He holds a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from Georgia Tech. In addition to his work in human neuroscience, Dr. Deshpande leads the neuroimaging and brain analytics component of Auburn’s canine performance research — a core part of the DHS-funded DCSITE program, which received a $24 million contract to advance detection dog science and operational threat detection. His group applies cutting-edge neuroimaging techniques to understand and enhance working dog cognition and behavior. He has published extensively and is a recipient of the 2024 Health 2.0 Outstanding Leadership Award.

Rishi holds a degree in Economics and Finance from Ashoka University and a Master’s in Public Policy from National Law School Bangalore. As a proven builder and scaler of organisations, he brings a truly interdisciplinary skill set. Driven by Dognosis' ambitious mission to save millions of lives through early cancer detection, he focuses on business development, forging external partnerships, and optimising internal processes. Outside of work, Rishi is a pro ultimate frisbee player, having represented Karnataka and competed internationally. A music connoisseur, he enjoys everything from Carnatic classical to Western pop and dabbles in multiple instruments himself.

Anusri is a biomedical engineer currently specializing in product design, passionate about merging engineering and design to create impactful healthcare solutions. As an R&D Intern, Design at Dognosis, she is exploring electrode actuation in canine BCI systems and more. She loves good food, unwinding with TV shows, and getting lost in novels.

Professor Benny Chain is a Professor of Computational Immunology at University College London (UCL), with joint appointments in the Division of Infection & Immunity and the Department of Computer Science. His research combines immunology with data science, focusing on T and B cell receptor diversity using high-throughput sequencing and computational tools. He collaborates closely with clinicians to study immune responses to infections like HIV and tuberculosis, as well as cancer. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Cambridge and has held postdoctoral positions at the Sloan Kettering Institute.

Abhijit studied Electrical and Electronics Engineering at NIT Goa, where he worked on Spiking Neural Networks and completed an internship at Jio focused on computer vision. At Dognosis, he applies his expertise in computational neuroscience and AI, diving into DevOps when needed. With a passion for learning and problem-solving, Abhijit enjoys understanding how things work. A true dog lover, he spends his free time bonding with dogs and playing with them. He's also into sports (especially football), hiking, and making every activity a bit more fun. Recently, he’s become fascinated by cars, with a particular obsession for JDMs.

Aswin is a passionate tech enthusiast who loves pushing the boundaries of robotics and AI. With experience in UAV avionics, robotic automation, and AI-driven sensing technologies, he has worked on projects ranging from autonomous drones to canine behavior analysis. Aswin has contributed to multiple research publications and has expertise in ROS, computer vision, and embedded systems. Beyond work, he enjoys tinkering with electronics, exploring new AI trends, and building creative projects.

I'm Shrishti, an engineering student currently working in the founder’s office at dognosis, where i navigate early-stage chaos with curiosity. my work spans strategy, research, and operations — from mapping go-to-market pathways to identifying collaborators across science, tech, and clinical spaces. with a background in data analysis and distributed systems, i bring structure to ambiguity and intuition to problem-solving. i'm especially drawn to the intersections - where disciplines, people, and ideas meet - and i try to make sense of the story beneath it all. i write poetry about life - the patterns, pauses, and paradoxes — and it’s in those quiet, unspoken corners that i feel most at home.

I’m currently pursuing my Bachelor’s in Design at Srishti Manipal Institute, specialising in Creative & Applied Computation. My work focuses on UI/UX design, visual storytelling, and creative strategy. I’m especially drawn to projects that blend art and interaction in playful, engaging ways. Outside of work, I co-run a small sticker and print business, and I love baking, singing, and exploring new creative outlets. I stay energised through movement—whether I’m swimming or lifting weights—and I’m always on the lookout for fresh experiences to learn from and create something meaningful in return.

Shivam specializes in Micro and Nano Electro-Mechanical Systems, electronics, and applied physics, with experience in digital twin technology and simulation. He has worked with the European Research Council, DRDO, IIT Delhi, and L&T Technology Services. Passionate about breaking norms and pushing technological boundaries, he thrives on turning sci-fi concepts into real-world innovations. Outside of work, he enjoys trekking, camping, photography, dance, and design. Fun fact: he once shattered his leg on a trampoline.

Bhargavi holds dual B.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering & Computer Science and Business Administration from UC Berkeley. She spent three years working for McKinsey & Co. in the Digital & Analytics practice in San Francisco, advising the world’s top tech companies on software and product strategy. At Dognosis, she works on go-to-market strategy, finding ways for our pioneering research and technology to make the greatest possible impact out in the world. Outside of work, she reads a lot, writes a little, and occasionally climbs a mountain.

Subha holds a master’s in Industrial Biotechnology and a PhD in animal behavior and neuroethology from NCBS, focusing on collective behavior. From bacteria to orangutans, her work spans across diverse organisms, fueling her curiosity for all scales of life. At Dognosis, she combines her passion for animal behavior, problem-solving, and cutting-edge AI to decode scent profiles as early disease indicators. She thrives on untangling biology’s complexities and building systems that answer tough questions. Outside work, she’s a trained vocalist, art enthusiast, and lover of remote places, music, and philosophical musings.

I am currently a third year undergraduate student pursuing a BE in Electronics and Communications Engineering at BITS Pilani, Pilani Campus. Most of my free time is spent listening to music, playing the keyboard or hooping with friends. Super stoked to be joining dognosis as an intern, and can't wait for what lies ahead!

Thiru is an electronics aficionado with expertise in embedded systems and IoT. With a workshop full of snacks and tea, he brews innovative ideas that turn concepts into reality. Over the years, Thiru has contributed to multiple startups and worked on projects across India, the US, the UK, and Dubai, collaborating with institutions like NIRT-ICMR, Dubai Airport Authorities, Alpha Data, and top universities. Known for his belief that “laughter is the best voltage,” he brings energy and fun to the team. Outside of circuitry, Thiru enjoys spirited debates—especially on the merits of pineapple on pizza. His motto: “Innovate, laugh, and always keep the sparks flying!”

Insha is an undergraduate student studying Computer Science and Mathematics at Ashoka University. Her interests lie at the intersection of Machine Learning and Image Processing, more specifically she works in research and development in Computer Vision at Dognosis. Beyond work, she stays entertained by going to the gym, playing word games and making bad puns.

Vishnu is a design-driven problem solver with 6+ years of experience in R&D, robotics, and automated systems. He specializes in taking products from prototype to mass production, managing the entire development lifecycle, and enjoys developing products from Zero to One. He thrives in environments that foster creativity and imagination, always shying away from the mundane. In his spare time, he enjoys business reads, football, and meaningful conversations. An avid traveler, he seeks adventure to escape the urban hustle and find tranquility.

With 15 years of diverse healthcare experience, Dr. Minal Dakhave leads regulatory approvals, clinical research, and go-to-market strategies at Dognosis. Previously, she spent a decade heading molecular diagnostics at Mylab Discovery Solutions, playing a key role in India’s first COVID-19 RT-PCR test. A nominee for the Padma Award and holder of five patents, she’s a recognized innovator. Beyond science, Minal is a lifelong animal lover, avid reader, and traveler. Her passion for innovation and compassion for animals drive her work at Dognosis.

With a Master’s in Pharmacology, Sahana was part of Dognosis before it even existed! As Chief Clinical Coordinator, she bridges communication between study sites and sponsors, handles site visits, maintains documentation, trains CRCs, and oversees QA/QC. Her motto: “Everything is learnable and doable; we just need patience.” Outside work, Sahana is a serial hobbyist—designing diaries, stickers, custom products, and dog outfits. A foodie and nature photographer, she loves exploring new cuisines and capturing nature’s beauty. Impulsive trips, rock climbing, and uncovering the truth about “haunted” spots keep her adventurous spirit alive. She thrives on Dognosis’ positive energy and is grateful to see the company grow from the ground up, working alongside the true superheroes—our dogs.

Anjum holds a Doctor of Pharmacy degree with a strong foundation in oncology and patient care. During her internship, she gained hands-on experience shadowing oncologists and working as a physician assistant. At Dognosis, she focuses on clinical research, driven by a passion for bridging scientific advancements with patient care. Outside of work, she enjoys baking, skincare, and exploring fashion, bringing creativity and balance to her life.

By day, Dasmen is a Clinical Research Coordinator at Dognosis, driving cutting-edge cancer screening projects with the potential to change lives. By night, he’s on the piano, channeling creativity through music. With a Grade 3 certification from Trinity College London, his passion for melody keeps him grounded while fueling his innovative approach to research. Whether advancing science or playing a soulful tune, Dasmen is all about making an impact—one discovery and one note at a time.

Richard is a specialist in aggression rehabilitation, animal behavior, and personal protection dog training. With expertise in PSA and KNPV-style decoying, he has worked extensively in high-performance canine training. Now, he’s bringing his skills to medical detection, passionately learning and adapting from the experts around him. Beyond work, Richard is an adventure sports enthusiast and an aspiring pilot, always seeking new challenges. His dedication to understanding and training dogs continues to drive his work at Dognosis.

Maadesh is a Mechatronics graduate currently working as a design intern. He is skilled at building what’s needed from scratch, creating 3D models, and supporting the development and testing of prototypes to validate design concepts. Collaborating closely with engineers and designers, Maadesh refines designs and implements feedback. He stays updated on the latest industry trends and technologies, applying this knowledge to enhance his work.

Kiran is a Clinical Research Coordinator and Team Lead at the Hubli sites. With a Master’s in Pharmacy specialising in Pharmacology, he applies a rigorous approach to clinical research and project execution, ensuring high standards and impactful healthcare outcomes. Outside of work, Kiran is an avid motorcycle enthusiast who enjoys exploring new destinations and gaining fresh perspectives on the open road. His appreciation for animals is reflected in his close bond with his dogs, Jacky and Tommy, who exemplify loyalty and unconditional care.

Arnab is a passionate researcher with a love for science, bikes, and staying active. His deep connection with animals, especially dogs, fuels his work at Dognosis, where he blends innovation with purpose. He's always eager to take on new challenges, and is a proponent of a balanced approach to work and life.

Tahameen holds a Doctor of Pharmacy degree with a solid foundation in cardiology, oncology, and patient care. With hands-on experience as a physician assistant alongside cardiologists and oncologists, she now focuses on clinical research and scientific advancements at Dognosis. Dedicated to reducing cancer-related mortality, Tahameen strives to enhance treatment outcomes and save lives. Outside of work, she enjoys crafting mandala art, reading, playing badminton, and taking long rides.

Intern with Dognosis
We are always open to working with passionate, motivated, and curious engineers, scientists, designers, clinical researchers, and generalists to work with us on a range of challenging problems. These include neurotechnology, robotics, olfactory science, embedded systems, signal processing, computational modeling, full-stack software, on-ground clinical research, communication design and much more.
Internships have the possibility of converting to a full-time position. Additional perks include a competitive stipend, a rigorous learning experience, and occasionally hanging out at a farmhouse/ lab with 9 friendly dogs.
